Spyker seems to make a comeback with the Spyker C8 Preliator. The Spyker C8 successor had been unveiled in the first week of the Geneva International Motor Show. The car will be displayed on the New York International Auto Show on the 25th of March, but before it goes we went to take a closer look!
The Spyker uses Audi engines since the first day of their existence. With a 4.2 L Supercharged Audi V8, this car is surely no exception to that rule. The engine produces up to 525 hp and 600 Nm of torque, which leads to a 0 to 100 acceleration time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 322 kph. Furthermore, the customer gets the choice of a 6-speed Getrag manual gearbox as a standard or a 6-speed ZF Gearbox. The last option will cost a little more money.
The C8 Preliator is with no doubt a improvement over the older C8 model line (not that they were bad, not at all). The Preliator gets a aluminum and carbon fibre bodywork and is therefore the first Spyker to have carbon in its bodywork. It also gets improved aerodynamica and cooling for even more horses. Ailerons on the side of the car (see picture) will ensure for a controlled air flow to the car.
We also took a look inside the Spyker C8 Preliator where we saw the a leather interior ( 14 color option ) finished with honeycomb stitching. The spyker will be equipped with a high-end sound system, incorporating radio system, Bluetooth interface and Apple Iphone connectivity.
The name Preliator means fighter in Latin, which pays tribute to the fighter jets. Spyker, now based in Coventry, England. Preliotors will be produced on order and it will be a limited run car of 50 units. The price is €324,000 excluded from taxes.
